New TPFC Constitution and Bylaws

 

Texas Premier FC is now part of Katy Youth Soccer Club which is a member club of the newly reorganized Katy Youth Soccer Association. These changes were made to better promote soccer and to allow growth of youth soccer in the West Houston and Katy area.

The Texas Premier F.C. is the competitive club of The Katy Youth Soccer Club and the Bear Creek Soccer Club. The club was formed for the  purpose of developing the soccer skills of boys and girls from the Houston, Texas area to successfully compete in Division I and II soccer games.  Many players formerly played on Katy Strikers and Bear Creek United teams, and they have won many tournaments as well as district and state championships.

Texas Premier F.C. teams are trained by licensed professional trainers and are managed by experienced coaches.  The common goal is the improvement of the player's physical, technical, tactical, and mental skills.  Teams train twice per week from August through May.  Most games are on weekends, with the exception of some tournament games.  Most Texas Premier F.C. teams attend 5-10 tournaments per year, some of which are out of town.

Tryouts are held each May resulting in the reformation of teams in the U11-U19 age levels.  All roster positions are open during tryouts.   Texas Premier F.C. fields teams at the highest level at which the team can be competitive.  Players are encouraged to play at their highest level to promote continued improvement.

What is the player selection process?
The club training staff runs tryouts, where they will assess technical skills, athleticism, speed and quickness, player attitude and the potential to improve with training. Player selection is by the training staff.

 

What are the available competitive levels?
We have many teams competing at the highest level, Division I, through the Eastern District Division One Association (EDDOA). Our Division II teams (Super 2 and Div. 2) compete through the Timberline Youth Soccer Association (TYSA), which covers an arc from Kingwood through North & Northwest Houston down to Bear Creek. 

 

Where do teams practice?
Practices are held at the Katy Park complex and Bear Creek complex. This gives the club some of the best training facilities in the Houston area. Teams practice twice a week, with weekend games. Additional goalie training is provided for TEXAS PREMIER FC goalies.

 

Where do players come from?
TEXAS PREMIER FC players come from throughout the Houston region, including Katy, First Colony, Memorial, Spring Branch, Cy-Fair, Alief and Klein.

 

Where are the games played?
Division I games are played in the Greater Houston area. Division II-Super 2 and Division II games are played alternately at Katy Park or Bear Creek, and away at opponent’s fields in west and north Houston. 

 

How are the teams managed and run?
Each team has a trainer and experienced parent manager (coach), assisted by a team treasurer. The club provides team managers training through both state and national levels.

What is the playing season?
Teams start training in August for the fall season. Some teams will have team camps in late July, and teams that are attempting to qualify into Division I will start training immediately following tryouts. Fall season games start after Labor Day, and teams continue to train up to mid-December. Training resumes in mid-January, with regular season or cup play starting in February, or March, and teams train through the month of May. 

Does the club do any fundraisers to defray costs?
Teams have the opportunity to obtain sponsorships and pursue fundraisers to defray individual and team costs. Scholarship assistance is available for hardship cases. The board reviews these individually.
